About Great Rock Climbs of the Western Cape - Book Launch
Book Launch at Gone Outdoor Stellenbosch An Evening with Tony Lourens Join us at our Gone Outdoor Stellenbosch store on Thursday, 21 May as we celebrate the launch of Great Rock Climbs of the Western Cape with climber, guide, and author Tony Lourens . The first of its kind, the book is a coffee table celebration of 75 world-class traditional climbs across the Western Cape - from Table Mountain and the Cederberg to Montagu and beyond - blending striking photography, climbing history, and stories from the people who helped shape South African rock climbing. Tony has spent over 45 years climbing, guiding, writing, and documenting mountain culture both locally and abroad. His deep connection to the mountains and passion for sharing climbing knowledge make this a special evening for anyone who loves wild places, good stories, and time spent outdoors. Tony will share stories from decades in the mountains, followed by a Q&A. Please note: This event will take place in our courtyard , so dress warm and bring a camping chair if you can. Come hang out, meet fellow climbers and outdoor folk, and celebrate a new addition to South African mountain literature.
